Sweetpie Restaurant NYC

Unfortunately, I think Sweetiepie is closed now, but I thought I would post some pics anyway because I think it is absolutely gorgeous! Apparently the idea behind it was to create a space where kids and moms could have an equally great time (read: they're having mac & cheese and you're having a much-deserved martini). The restaurant was marketed as a "cocktails in a candy store," kind of place where moms didn't have to downgrade their glamour requirement when lunching with the little one. Sounds perfect to me! ;)

You Can Thank Me Later :)
Okay.  So if I was Catholic I'd be heading to confession right now because I've got a major case of the envies ... but seriously, this shed-turned-glass-greenhouse is one of the most gorgeous things I have EVER seen!!!  And what makes it even better is that it was a wedding gift from the owner's husband!  So romantic!  And what's sexier than a guy that can build things?  I'll answer that for you.  Nothing!  He replaced the walls of the shed with 11 panes of windows he found at a salvage yard and then replaced the roof with tempered glass to give it that greenhouse effect.  What an amazing idea, although it does not sound easy!
I just think this is the most beautiful little spot!  I like the way it blends almost seamlessly into the surrounding environment but has that touch of glam at the same time.
